What began as a simple goal of making my blog look better a few weeks ago became a sudden priority last night after being told that I won’t be employed with my current employer after this week essentially. I need to put a good face forward and since my blog is the first thing that comes up when you Google my name, I decided to put in an all-nighter and get business taken care of.
So thusly, welcome to my new theme for StevenHaddox.com.
Take note that there is no sidebar or crazy long menus any more. All menu items have been moved to the bottom of the relevant pages. You can find the appropriate content by selecting the tab that interests you. My Lifestream is convenient for me with all my recent online activity in one place so I have the most recent 9 items displayed by default. You’ll also find category and tag clouds as well as archives of my posts by date. Lastly you’ll find a tab with links to sites I am passionate about and other blogs of friends and family. These last few tabs will be improved upon in the near future. I also have 12 random photographs from the most recent 40 photos I’ve uploaded to Flickr in the bottom right portion of the site as well as my four most recent video uploads.
Please let me know if you come across any bugs so that I can fix them accordingly. One major bug that has been fixed in this release is that IE6, and IE7 should now be able to view my site without blowing up. I figured out the culprit of what was causing problems in the last theme and it has been fully remedied as far as my testing on several VMs, and other people’s computers has shown. Let me know if you experience otherwise. Some improvements I’ll be adding very soon are a contact form, some more styling to tab content, a portfolio of my website projects, and a current version of my resume.
Anyway, I’ll get into more details about how life has been in general as time permits. In the meantime, let’s summarize by saying that my ex-wife is taking me to court, Paisley had bronchiolitis, I’ve had to make up some insane hours with my regular (soon to be “old”) job, and I don’t think I could be any more broke than I currently am.
On the bright side of things, I’ve reaffirmed my belief that money is not nearly as important as people make it out to be and as long as you can have your family and are trying your hardest in life, things will work out.
Enjoy the new site my friends. I’ll be sure to post about new improvements as they happen.
